China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has increased output from the Saman Depe gas field in Turkmenistan by 6.5 million cubic metres per day following the launch of four new compressor units on Monday, CNPC said on Friday.

The field is part of CNPC’s Amu Darya River gas project and now has a total of 13 compressor units. This will enable the first gas processing plant in the Bagtyyarlyk Area A licence to operate at capacity during China’s winter heating season.
