Azerbaijan agrees with Russia on international status to another border checkpoint Political and military events
IIKSS - Azerbaijan has agreed with Russia on the assignment of international status to one more border checkpoint.
Azerbaijani sources say that such an agreement was reached within the recent visit of Russian vice premier Dmitry Rogozin to Azerbaijan.
"The arbitration agreement of the parties records that Russia supports Azerbaijan’s proposal on granting an international status to checkpoint Shirvanovka (Azerbaijan) – Novo-Filya (Russia). It is necessary in order not to interrupt the movement of passengers and goods between the two countries during the reconstruction of the bridge across border river Samur," the source said.
