IIKSS - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov, who arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the Global Conference for Sustainable Transport System.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to discuss key aspects of cooperation during a personal meeting, the guest conveyed the warm greetings from Acting President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, who expressed the sincere wishes for peace, happiness and prosperity to the leader and people of Turkmenistan.

Thinking for the kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country. The President of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the friendly, good-neighbourly relations between Turkmenistanabnd Uzbekistan, which are filled with new specific content with every passing year. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan successfully cooperated in the bilateral and multilateral formats, within the framework of authoritative international cooperation, demonstrating the identity and contiguity of positions in a number of important issues of the regional and global agenda.

Emphasis was put on existing ample opportunities to build up fruitful relations in the trade and economic spheres and other sectors. It was also noted that an integral part of the interstate dialogue was humanitarian cooperation, as predetermined by the common cultural roots, spiritual values and centuries-old traditions of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.

Turkmen leader and his guest discussed the opportunities of cooperation put into agenda of the Global Conference for Sustainable Transport System and in particular, in such important sphere as the establishment of the integrated transport infrastructure. The promising vectors of collaboration include the transport sector.

In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed mutual belief that good neighbourly relations would strengthen and constructive cooperation would continue to develop successfully in the interests of the two countries and peoples.
