IIKSS- Foreign investors’ interest in Kazakhstan is growing. Atyrau region still remains the most attractive for investors. The oil producing city has been recently visited by Turkish and Azerbajani business delegations. As analysts noted, Kazakhstan’s economic ties with these states have a great potential that the countries plan to use to full capacity. ASSET TUYAKBAYEV, ENTREPRENEUR: Our company has an established cooperation with Turkish partners. It is very beneficial for us. Firstly, the logistics is very convenient; all the routes have been established. We use Turkish equipment in our manufacturing and we are interested in further strengthening of cooperation. During the meeting with Turkish businessmen, Kazakh companies have been offered various equipment, construction materials and food production technologies. Kazakhstan imports cereals, legumes, grocery, petroleum and precious metals to Turkey. The guests presented new land route that will allow reducing time and costs of cargo transportation. For this purpose, we have created a new route from the Eastern coast of the Black Sea through Georgia and Russia, while before we used to transport cargo through Iran. Now the transportation takes three days and the delivery cost is three times cheaper. Azarbaijan and Kazakhstan have already established smooth logistics. Aktau sea port is on the peak of its development now and will see growing cargo flow. RASHAD MAMEDOV, AMBASSADOR OF AZERBAIJAN TO KAZAKHSTAN: We are interested in many products coming from. Kazakhstan for us is a traditional sales market of both agricultural and industrial products. As representatives of Azerbaijan, we will do our best to form a smooth logistics through the Caspian Sea and develop infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. All of this is done for business. Potential investors are more and more seeing the favorable business and investment climate in Atyrau, the local authorities say. The region provides special economic zones for new business ensuring all the necessary infrastructure is in place. On top of this, Kazakhstan has tax exemptions for foreign investors.
