Russia’s construction project on Caspian Sea shelf secures approval
The project of the second stage of construction of the facility “Oil Field Development n.a. Y. Korchagin” has received a positive conclusion of the RF State Expert Evaluation Department, which is within the jurisdiction of the Construction Ministry of Russia.
As the Ministry’s press office told construction.RU on Wednesday, nearly all works, starting from the project development to the commissioning of the offshore ice resistant platform, are implemented by Russian companies.
This is where the complex development of other Caspian shelf banks with the single transportation structure and onshore facilities begins. Another project’s peculiarity is the usage of a zero discharge technology.
As a reference, the oil, gas and condensate field n.a. Y. Korchagin is located in the northern part of the Caspian Sea, 180 kilometers from the city of Astrakhan and 240 kilometers from the city of Makhachkala. The facility was opened in the year 2000 and put into operation in April 2010.
