Malaysia's SapuraKencana awarded TANAP offshore construction contract
Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) has awarded to Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad the contract for the construction of TANAP’s 18-km offshore section across the Canakkale Strait, APA reports.
The construction of TANAP was commenced in 2015. The 1800-km TANAP is planned to carry 16 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz II field in the Caspian Sea, one of the world’s largest gas fields.
TANAP shareholders are Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR (58 percent), BOTAS (30 percent), and BP (12 percent).
