Flagship of Russia’s Caspian Flotilla set off for combat exercises
Missile ship Tatarstan, the flagship of the Caspian flotilla, has departed from the basing port of Makhachkala and headed to the ranges of the Caspian Sea for combat exercises, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The sortie is carried out in accordance with the Plan of naval exercises for 2016.
Earlier, the flagship had undergone modernization and repair works which resulted in improvement of its service life and quality rates.
At sea, the crew is to practice elements of sea training, in particular, antimine defence, defence in unsafe roadstead, damage control, as well as combat firing.
