Advisor to Leader hails capacities of Caspian Sea littoral states
Littoral states of the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus countries have good potential for cooperation, Major-General Yahya Rahim Safavi, an advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, said on Wednesday.
The geographical vicinity of northern province of Gilan to the Caspian Sea littoral states and the Caucasus countries is an opportunity to promote relations with these countries, Rahim Safavi said.
Speaking in a local ceremony, the official noted that Russia has the capacity to import one hundred billion dollars of agricultural products from Iran.
The Russian market and the market in other countries in the region, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Georgia have also a thirst for Iranian products, he said.
He called for increasing the standard of food-related industries in Iran and urged improvement of train and maritime transportation between Iran and regional states to facilitate export of Iranian products abroad.
