Cargo flow from Ukraine to Kazakhstan through Azerbaijan may increase since July Investment
The Ministry of Investments of Kazakhstan recommends from 1 July 2016 the carriers, engaged in international transportation from the territory of Ukraine to Kazakhstan, to organize their delivery through Georgia, Azerbaijan and across the Caspian to Aktau.
Today’s official statement of the Ministry says that the validity of the special procedure for the transit of Ukrainian cargo through Russia to Kazakhstan will stop since 1 July, and alternative routes are suggested.
"Today, about 500 wagons and 1,000 trucks are handled through the ferry complex of port of Aktau in the Caspian Sea every month. Taking into account the expected additional volumes the Aktau port has the capability of handling additional shipments from Ukraine through Georgia and Azerbaijan," the Kazakh Ministry informed.
In addition to the transit through Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan has proposed to the Ukrainian consignors a route through Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
