Iran, Russia discuss easing visa requirements
In talks on the sidelines of an international economic conference in St. Petersburg, Iran and Russia discussed easing visa requirements for Iranian and Russian tourists visiting the two countries.
Saeed Shirkavand, the director of planning and investment department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, represented Iran in the talks and Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov represented the Russian side.
During the talks, the two sides discussed issuing electronic and log-time visas, as well as reducing the cost for visa issuance.
They also discussed visa issuance for tourist groups visiting Russia, instead of issuing individual visas, and launching a direct shipping line in the Caspian Sea between Iran and Russia.
