This summer, in the city of Moscow, there will be arranged new beaches on the banks of rivers and lakes of the city with demarcated areas where water would not exceed 1.2 meters deep

The beaches are specially adapted for children and adults who do not know to swim and for people with disabilities and their companions.

The decision was implemented to prevent drowning after dozens of such cases have been reported in recent years, given that people, tourists or locals want to cool after a hot day even if they do not know how to swim and do not realize when water becomes too deep.
More, the director of intervention in case of aquatic accidents in Moscow, Vasiliy Maryan, said that a line, bounded by buoys, is marking when the water is 1.2 meters deep. After this line, the water gradually increases to 2 meters, so the recreational boats will have to keep a distance of 50 meters from the specially designated areas in order to prevent injury.
Much of the territory of Russia has a cold climate, with polar harsh winters which last from 8-10 months and short and cool summers. In Moscow, however, the climate can be characterized as humid temperate continental, with hot summers. Citizens and tourists can enjoy the special beaches constructed around the many lakes and rivers of the city as Moscow is an important port. Waterways, including the Moscow Canal, Volga-Don Canal and the River Port of the city of Moscow are to be accessible to vessels coming in the Baltic Sea, White Sea, Black Sea and Caspian Sea.
