Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia agreed to increase cargo transportation via Caspian Sea and ready to draw Russia Investment
Baku hosted a trilateral meeting of the heads of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Askar Mamin), CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) (Javid Gurbanov), JSC Georgian Railways (Mamuka Bakhtadze).
ADY reports that the sides discussed the possibility of increasing the volume of cargo transportation via Trans-Caspian international transport route (TITR).
In particular, speech was of the definition of competitive rates, improvement of the efficiency of ferry vessels via route Aktau-Kurik–Alyat-Aktau-Kurik, development of cooperation in the field of manufacturing and supplying products of railway engineering.
The parties spoke for an increase in volume of carried cargo via route TITR with the use of the land route through the territories of Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia both for railcar and container carriages. Kazakhstan has fixed special rates on some types of export goods through the above-listed territories.
During talks it was stressed the necessity to discuss tariff and organizational issues concerning the passage of goods via the overland route with railroaders of Russia.
