Iran, Russia discuss Syria, Mideast issues

Iran Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei on Tuesday discussed the Middle East issues, especially Syria, with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special envoy of President Putin on the Mideast affairs Mikhail Bogdanov.

The two sides reviewed issues and outcomes of international contact group on Syria meeting held in Vienna.
Iran and Russia are members of the International group supporting Syria and are trying to find a fair settlement for the humanitarian crisis in Syria through political means and intra-Syria negotiations without foreign interference.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov reviewed the situation in Syria on the sidelines of meeting of the International Contact Group held in Vienna.
