Larijani: Iran welcomes conference of Eurasian parliament speakers
Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that South Korea proposed Russia to hold Conference of Eurasian Speakers of Parliament and Iran welcomed the proposal.
He made the remarks at the airport prior to departure to Moscow to attend the conference.
Larijani said he is to attend Conference of the Eurasian parliament speakers and will meet the counterparts on the sidelines of the conference.
He said that organizing the conference was necessary considering special situation in the region and in order to develop trade ties and put forward initiatives to help resolve the humanitarian crises in the region.
He said that regional crises necessitated creation of bodies in order to make more convergence among countries. 'So we are participating the conference to advance the goals.
Speakers of parliaments from Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan Republic, Belarus, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, South Korea, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines and Czech Republic are taking part in the conference.
