Envoy: Majlis speaker, Defense minister to visit Russia
Iran Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said on Saturday that Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan will pay a visit to Russia this week and next week respectively.
Sanaei wrote in his facebook that Larijani is to visit Russia at the invitation of Chairman of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin to attend the meeting of Eurasia parliament speakers.
Larijani is to deliver speech to the meeting and discuss issues of mutual interests with heads of the State Duma and Russian Federation Council as well as speakers of parliaments from the Eurasian countries.
The meeting is to kick off in Moscow on April 19 and speakers from 19 countries are to attend the meeting.
Defense Minister Brigadier-General Hossein Dehqan also is to visit Russia next week at the invitation of Russian Federation Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to attend annual international security meeting in Moscow.
The 5th International Security Conference will be held in Moscow on April 27-28 and 17 defense ministers and 14 deputy defense ministers are to attend the conference.
The main theme of the conference is fight against terrorism as well as security issues of Asia and the Pacific and global stability and military cooperation, Shoigu said.
