Russia, Azerbaijan agree to activate Russian-Azerbaijani Business Council
"We’ve agreed that we will intensify the work of the Russian-Azerbaijani Business Council as the partnership should be carried out not only by governments but by businesses as well," Medvedev stated following his visit, Fineko/abc reports.
He also called for efforts for building of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
"There are all pre-conditions for that. We need to look for new projects, it is necessary to intensify activity of intergovernmental commissions, although our colleagues work quite well. We have a number of very large projects - energy projects and transport projects. Of course, in all these directions it is desirable now to intensify work in order to add the drive to the development of our economies. We also have external projects. In particular, for example, now the Iranian direction is very promising. I think this direction can be one of the very important for mega-Caspian collaboration and cooperation within our region. There are energy projects of different order, which are also able to contribute to the development of our countries, in particular in the field of electricity industry and some other ones," Medvedev said.
